Designed an electric-powered train to travel on a 10.25-inch gauge track at 3 mph. Calculations were performed to select the most suitable materials and designs to sustain the induced stress and deflections at various gradients, and to justify the motor and battery selections.

Calculations for draw-bar stress and deflections were completed, and the motor and battery were selected based on an analysis of the landscape and operational duration. The chosen setup includes a 60V DC brushless motor with a peak power of 2 kW and a 35Ah, 60V DC battery.
